Read The Autumn Journal, pages 73-87
We're continuing to journal about changes that we see occurring during the Fall season. Look out the window or go outdoors, then jot down your observations. (assignment listed below) The Nature Connection has many wonderful print-outs that can be used by nature loving families. See Claire's Nature Notes print-out for the month of November for journaling tips. Feel free to also take photographs of your area and upload to the gallery to share with us! Continue adding to your "Nature Wheel". Remembers.....you can add things such as photos, nature prints, and poetry.
Check out Wikipedia's interesting facts about November (retained its name from the Latin novem meaning "nine"), the various activities that takes place during this time. It's amazing that the winter season is right around the corner! As you know, the day after Thanksgiving in the US, there is a "Black Friday" and also "Buy Nothing Day (BND)". What is interesting is that some families and nature lovers do a "Buy Nothing Day Hike". Rather than celebrating consumerism by shopping, participants celebrate the earth and nature.

*Refer to examples shown from Clare's Journals starting with page 137-A Seasonal Celebration. This portion of the book has been added and is not in the older KNJ editions. I'm so happy that they decided to do this! Check out journal page November 20, 2002. She has a beautiful drawing of an Old Sugar Maple. See also September 23rd, "Signs of Fall".
